The bodies keep stacking up in North Carolina

"Carolina Rain" is Rick Murcer's fifth book in his Manny Williams Thriller series. When you read this one you're again in for twists and turns that abound throughout the story. In "Carolina Rain" we see more of Sophie Lee, the bubbly character who often gives some comic relief to tense and suspenseful storylines and dark crimes.
Heinous and gruesome murders are being committed by someone who seems, at first, to be an obvious psychopath and serial killer. At the same time, other seemingly unrelated killings are happening as well, so the work is cut out for the FBI team, with a little help from the local police, to find out who is at the core of the murders and who is directing this crime spree.
I enjoyed reading more about Sophie, and also about Chloe, Manny's new wife, and Jen, his daughter, who are still in Lansing, Michigan. The plot takes a few surprising turns and a couple of characters from previous Manny Williams books appear again to wrap things up in a shocking ending that will keep me anxiously waiting for the next book in the series.
Rick Murcer has done his usual good job of writing a tense and suspenseful thriller with more development of the characters as the series continues, and he carries parts of the same storyline throughout while introducing new characters with different personalities and problems. The setting of the novels is always of interest, and out of the Caribbean and into the Carolinas is refreshing in this book.
Highly recommended for thriller, mystery and suspense readers.

Fantastic Read

Another amazing thriller in the Manny Williams series. From the very first page to the last, you feel as though you are on a roller coaster ride. Just as one situation is resolved, another faces our characters. I couldn't put the book down and read it in a day and a half--- Absolutely loved it!!!

Another great Manny Williams thriller! I've read all Rick Murcer's books and he continues to amaze me with his thrillers. And his latest "Carolina Rain" is no exception. He leaves you wanting more and that to me is a sign of a terrific writer.
You won't be disappointed.
